Dr. Skye A. McKennon, PharmD is a licensed pharmacist, board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS), group exercise instructor, certified lifestyle coach, and preventionist. Dr. McKennon completed her bachelor’s degree and doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Washington State University. She completed postdoctoral residency training at the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington and received a teaching certificate from the University of Washington. Dr. McKennon has practice experience in the community, institutional, and ambulatory pharmacy settings. Her passion for teaching and education led her to faculty positions at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy and at the Washington State University College of Pharmacy, where she has received honors for teaching, mentorship, scholarship, and community service.

Dr. McKennon has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals (including the American Journal of Pharmacy Education and Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning) and co-authored five pharmacy textbooks. She has presented her work at international and national symposiums such as the Seventh International Conference on Interprofessional Practice and Education, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy annual meeting, the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine annual meeting, and the Pharmacy Technicians Educators Council conference.

Courses designed and directed by Dr. McKennon include applied pharmacotherapeutics, institutional pharmacy practice, diabetes prevention, and evidence-based preventive health. She has been both an instructor and a guest lecturer for various courses for pharmacy and other health science students, including calculations, therapeutics, pharmacotherapy for older adults, global health brigades, and law and ethics.
