How it Works

A Simple Four Step Process

JIST Online Career Assessments is very easy to use. Register and start an account, order and assign test(s) to be taken, take the test(s), and then review the test results—all online!

This is accomplished through a simple four-step process: 1) Register and set up a Test Administrator account, order tests, and arrange for payment; 2) Assign tests to specific individuals; 3) Take the test; and 4) Review the results. The process is the same for those who want to purchase and take a test for personal use, except these individuals are both the test administrator and the test taker—they assign the tests to themselves.

1) Register and set up a Test Administrator Account. The registration system assigns a unique Test Administrator ID, and you select a password so that your workspace at JIST Online Assessment is password-secured. You can order any mix of tests that are available at JIST Online Career Assessments. It takes about 24 hours after you register for your account to be set up if you pay with a credit card. Add another 24–48 hours if purchasing by purchase order. You receive e-mail notification when all is ready.

2) Assign tests to specific individuals.
a)  For each test you order, the system generates a unique Tester ID and posts it in your Test Administrator Account.

b)  Each Tester ID provides one administration of that test. Your Test Administrator Account has an auto-notify function that e-mails test takers all the necessary information they need to log in to take their tests. Of course, you can provide this information to test takers in written form or even log in for them if necessary. Your Test Administrator Account also has a utility to help you assign and track Tester IDs.

3) Take the tests. Test takers log in to JIST Online Assessment by using the unique Tester ID assigned by you along with your Test Administrator ID. This takes them directly—and only—to the test they are to complete. Since test takers do not have your password, they cannot get into your Test Administrator Account.

4) Review test results. As soon as a test is completed, the test taker’s responses are sent to the scoring system. At the same moment, the date and time of the test completion is posted in your Test Administrator Account. After a brief interval (usually less than three minutes), the test report is generated and made available for review in the Test Administrator Account. The report is in PDF format and can be reviewed on-screen, printed, or saved onto the Test Administrator’s computer.

Again, people who want to take the test for personal use follow the same steps, except they are both the Test Administrator and the test taker—they assign the tests to themselves.
