Linda Braun

Linda Braun, coauthor of Service-Learning, is a special needs teacher. She has a background in several academic areas including Career and Human Resource Development, Management Science, Music Education, as well as Elementary and Special Education.

Her education along with 15 years experience in the corporate world provide her with a unique insight into the needs of hiring managers as well as the skills that students will need to plan for their future careers. This background helped serve as the basis for writing the book Service-Learning.

Service-learning has become a powerful way to engage today's teens in education; it builds their skills and character as they meet real needs in their communities. The goal of the Service-Learning book is to help students enrich their service-learning experience. It informs students of the purpose of service learning, prepares them to make effective contributions, inspires them to give their best, and encourages them to use reflections on their experiences for personal growth.

Ms. Braun has played an active role in the communities she’s lived in. As a young person in a church youth group leading service projects to a young adult in college helping to found a local Circle K (Kiwanis) club.
