For many students, a job with the FBI seems exciting, prestigious, and a bit mysterious. This book takes the mystery out of working for the FBI by offering a comprehensive resource for both preparing for and obtaining a position with the FBI. If you're serious about an FBI career, this book is a must!
Linda Campbell, Business Instructor,  Humansville High School, Humansville, MO

FBI Careers is the most important book you will ever buy if you want to work for the Bureau. We sell more than 100 books on our Web site, but nothing comes close to Thomas Ackerman’s book for accurate information and helpful advice on successfully working your way through the FBI hiring maze. Our members recommend it time and again on our Internet message board.
Robert Amaral, President and CEO, 911HotJobs.com Employment Portal

Compiled and prepared by Special Agent Thomas H. Ackerman, FBI Careers is a solid, reliable, step-by-step guide to preparing for and securing a job with the American Federal Bureau of Investigation. Individual chapters address the history of the FBI, salary and benefits, the hiring process, what the FBI looks for in candidates, test-taking tips, training, FBI internship programs, and much more. Interest in joining the Bureau is at an all-time high since the September 11th attack on America and our current world-wide engagement with anti-American terrorist organizations. FBI Careers is a solid, meticulously researched, and extremely useful guide that is a must for young men and women seriously considering the FBI as a law enforcement career.
     Midwest Book Review

The material in this book is highly informative, right to the point, very helpful. It provides comprehensive, all-encompassing coverage of the application phases from the initial application up to and including the background investigation and security clearance interview. Careers with the FBI also are covered extensively, including the qualifications, training, and assignments. Bottom line, if you are truly committed to a career with the FBI, this is the book that will get you there. It is absolutely the best book on the subject.
Andrew Thompson, reader in Houston, TX

Without question, the FBI hiring process identifies intelligent, mature, flexible, well-adjusted applicants who can accurately evaluate information and use it to their advantage. I used Ackerman's book to my advantage, and I'll be moving in at Quantico soon.

I cannot imagine attempting to land a job with the FBI without reading Ackerman's phenomenal book first. Even though I thought I knew what to expect and how things worked, it turns out I was completely in the dark. Not any more.

If you would like a no-nonsense book that includes a step-by-step formula on getting into the FBI, look no further. Mr. Ackerman's remarkable book is loaded with tips and insights you will not find elsewhere. Throughout my life I have found that you can get just about anything you want with inspiration, determination, and reliable information. Now that I have read Mr. Ackerman's book, I have my share of all three.

One of my grad school professors--who served as an FBI Applicant Coordinator--highly recommended this book because I am interested in making the move from another federal law enforcement agency. I'm glad he did. I have discovered that the FBI takes job applicants down a path to employment that is different than those followed by other agencies. Half of the battle is understanding each application phase completely before applying, and then getting organized. FBI Careers explains how to capitalize on your strengths during the exams and interviews, and even how to turn weaknesses into strengths. Nothing is missing from this all-inclusive guide.

Using Ackerman's book as a roadmap, I passed all tests and interviews with relative ease. The greatest value to the book is chapter 7, Standing Out From the Crowd, which is worth its weight in gold. Ackerman's first book also has a chapter by the same title, and this is what sets his federal law enforcement career guides apart from others. I'm sure I will not be the only New Agent Trainee at Quantico who read this book.
